Digital Power Monitoring & Configuration Integration Checklist

Product Selection GuideNeeds engineering review

Updated 2026-10-29

Plan digital-power integration from the exact module's interface specification: readable data, permitted settings, startup defaults, fault behavior and configuration records. Monitoring and protocol support are model-specific, not guaranteed by the digital label.

Selection guidance only. Catalog ranges can span different models; comparisons are not a supplied product's specification. Confirm ratings, test conditions and availability from the selected datasheet and written quotation.

First establish what the selected module actually exposes

This is a planning checklist for modules whose monitoring or configuration functions have been documented. It is not a statement that all Jingmu-listed series implement a communication port or the functions below. Obtain the exact part number, hardware or firmware revision, pinout and interface documentation before designing the host connection.

Confirm logic levels, reference ground or isolation boundary, pull-up requirements, connector or pin assignment, addressing and permitted bus timing. A two-wire interface alone does not establish a power-management command set. PMBus is a defined management protocol, but a device's supported commands and optional signals still need model-level confirmation; do not assume every standard function is implemented.

Define a read-only monitoring acceptance plan

List the data needed for operation or diagnosis and identify where each value is measured. For each available voltage, current, temperature or status reading, request its units, range, resolution, accuracy, update interval and behavior when unavailable or out of range. Clarify whether fault events are live status, latched flags or retained records.

Have the responsible engineering team compare representative readings with suitable independent measurements under defined operating conditions. Confirm host decoding and timestamps before using the data for alarms or decisions. Telemetry update speed does not establish the module's regulation response or replace direct measurement of fast electrical events.

Treat writable settings as controlled configuration

Identify every setting the host is allowed to change, its permitted range and resolution, and the intended authorization or write-protection mechanism. Distinguish a temporary runtime value from a setting stored across power cycles. Do not assume a read-back value has been retained in nonvolatile memory.

Define an approved configuration and an engineering validation plan for each permitted change, including read-back, restart behavior and restoration to a known state. Use only documented, supported commands and ranges. A management interface is not permission to change compensation, protection or firmware settings outside the module supplier's instructions.

Specify startup and failure behavior before host software

Document whether the module starts without a host, which output and enable state apply after power-up, and what happens when the host restarts or communication is lost. For systems with multiple rails, confirm any required ordering against documented hardware or configuration functions; do not infer sequencing support from the word digital.

Include missing responses, invalid data, address conflicts, a stuck bus and interrupted configuration in the system's fault plan. State which faults require an operator decision and which recovery paths are permitted. Verify local protection and hardware shutdown where required instead of relying solely on management-bus latency or a running host application.

Keep a reproducible integration record

Record the exact module and revision, interface-document version, host-software version, supported command list, approved settings and acceptance results. Keep the delivered configuration distinguishable from the latest development configuration. A readable log can support diagnosis only when units, timestamps, calibration boundaries and configuration context are known.

If the supplier provides an adapter, GUI or sample code, verify that it applies to the selected revision and intended operating environment. Do not assume a generic tool can safely configure every module sharing a protocol. The existence of a software tool is not proof that a production configuration has been validated.

Send the integration requirements with the electrical inquiry

Alongside input, output, load and cooling requirements, state the host platform, required readings, alarm needs, permitted remote settings and expected startup and communication-failure behavior. Ask the supplier to identify supported, unsupported and unconfirmed functions explicitly. This makes monitoring requirements part of component selection instead of a late software assumption.

Email market@jingmusecurity.com for model-specific specifications and interface clarification. Jingmu's public power catalog is digital only, but its series tables do not confirm a common protocol, telemetry set, configuration tool or firmware-update capability. The information here is selection guidance awaiting engineering review, not a tested integration report.

Frequently asked questions

What should I confirm before connecting a host to a digital power module?
Confirm the exact model and revision, pinout, logic levels, grounding or isolation, addressing, bus timing, protocol and supported commands. Do not infer an interface or pin compatibility from the digital label.
Can telemetry replace output-ripple or load-transient measurements?
No. Telemetry has its own measurement location, accuracy and update interval. Fast ripple and transient behavior require suitable independent measurements under documented test conditions.
Will a setting written over the interface survive a power cycle?
Only if the selected module documents that behavior and the required storage procedure. Confirm runtime versus retained values, startup defaults and configuration restoration in the engineering validation plan.
Does every Jingmu digital power series provide monitoring and a configuration tool?
That is not established by the public series tables. Monitoring, writable settings, communication protocols and available tools must be confirmed for the exact model before integration.
